Default Hi, Thinking about buying a scooby

Hi All,

Just joined the forum, I am thinking about buying a scooby wagon but unsure which one to go for, Either a uk model or wrx, What is the difference between them? I had insurance quote for a uk model but not yet had a quote for an import. I have heard an import will be allot more to insure? Cheapest quote i had was £640 from greenlight. I am 27 with 2 years ncd.

I am only looking to spend around 2k so it will be a 97 turbo 2000 awd 5dr.

Any help would be apriciated.

Si

First of all welcome!!!

I have not found the price difference between UK cars and JDM (Japanese domestic market) on insurance is a massive problem. Its a touch cheaper on UK cars but the money you save on buying a JDM can sometimes eliminate that extra.

Try A plan for insurance, I heard they are knocking out pretty good quotes at the moment (dirty great big banner at the top of the page)

With regards to the difference between them, There are folk on here who will tell you EVERYTHING, as far as I know its just the mapping (japs use better fuel then we can get) and some options.
In the current market you should pick up a wagon for about that money. Its a great time to buy.

JDM normally have bigger BHP figures than standard UK cars - so go JAP imo of course!

For insurance - speak to Moley (I think thats his name) on here. I will be getting in touch once my current policy is over.
