Pulled out from a junction, then hit second gear. Speed camera flashes on the opposite side of the road. The wife said I was doing 50. I had to get out quick because it's a busy road. Then I stop at the next set of traffic lights and it say's please note this is a 30 zone. But there are signs with 40 in the red circles. Is anybody familar with this road?

I know that road very well mate, going by your description you were traveling away from chessington towards the m25, with the camera facing the opposite way so you will be ok, that camera only does traffic coming into chessington from the direction of the m25,the speed limit where the camera is sited is 30mph it changes to 40mph about 100 yards after the set of lights in the direction you were traveling in, hope this puts your mind at rest mate.

Providing the scamera is a gatso and not a truvalo!

There are 3 camera's on that road between the a3 and the m25 and all are the gatso type, the one nearest the a3 is sited in the middle of the road and can be rotated to do either direction, the other two (including the one in question) are fixed so they cant be turned round.
