Police Interceptors 'depicts cops as muppets'
#4
What a load of bollocks !! I think the program shows the Police in a positive light. They always seem to treat people with respect even when really provoked by some right idiots. One of the best factual series on TV. Hope there is more to come. Always a few moments in there to make you laugh .... even though my girlfriend fancies the copper with the goatee !!!!

Fine figure of a man.
This bit makes me smile A force insider said: “Most people in the job are appalled — the programme depicts our blokes as muppets.”
Touch of the green eyed monster perhaps? Assuming it's not a virtual insider.
At least we know it wasn't a statement made by anyone from the Swansea traffic unit. No pot or kettle there.
Police Interceptors ~ their mission :- To deny criminals the use of the roads
And catch hooligans like this

In the final analysis, there really isn't much to choose between "Poacher" and "Gamekeeper"

I often watch Road Wars and they are that well behaved on there you might think they have had a bit of coaching from the ACC. I expect the Chief Constable is well pleased.
Now maybe I picked a rogue half hour, but Police Interceptors reminded me of what plod these days are really like. Not too bright, often overweight, sanctimonious power trippers who think the uniform transforms them into some kind of superior lifeform. If I were the Essex Chief Constable I'd be less than impressed.

He added: “The fact they’re rally-type allows them to be fixed quickly when dangerous motorists hit them.”
Whoever made that comment was indeed a muppet ; An Impreza will more likely take longer to fix than, say, a BMW 5 series due to its inherant lack of protection against low-speed impacts causing more damage when compared to other makes of car; especially on frontal impacts.
Last time I checked, Police cars did not have cages nor had the chassis seam welded (as in a proper rally car); as such, when it crashes it bends and crumples just like any other road car. Or in the case of a Impreza; mashes the cam pulleys and damages the engine (due to having a wafer thin inner bumper (unlike the hefty thick alloy girder found behind the bumper on many other cars, like Renaults, Minis, BMWs Mercs and VAGs etc).
Of course the muppet who said that wouldn't know this as he is meerly clutching at straws...if there really was any credit to what he was saying, then our Police forces would be importing Ford Crown Victorias (body on chassis - basically a four door tank with flashing lights )

If that program depicts the Police interceptors as muppets what does that make the rest of the Police. IMO the force insiders would need to keep quiet as the Interceptors are the only things that make them look good.

No force insider said that. Any force insider would know what you have to go through to get a class 1 license to be allowed to drive those things.
Everytime The Sun makes stuff up it uses the term "insider" that way they dont have to back up there evidence, thus allowing them to make up a few stories to sell a few more papers.
The page 3 girl Zoe has been 24 for the last 5 years!!!! I rest my case (either that or she is infact dead and they just prop her up)

I am not sure it makes them look like muppets, often see them using 'nouse' or intuition tp spot criminals, no bad thing.
I think the problem with th system is the CPS and the laughable sentances or so called punishments handed down and the number of people caught, charged and then bailed who never turn up at court - the CPS are the muppets!
