Makes me mad things like this. Feel sorry for you mate. Something similar happened to me recently causing £1k worth of damage and drove off. Luckily it was all caught on CCTV so is being taken care of and the Police are in the process of screwing him with a big blunt object.

A witness heard the crash and said it was a transit truck, they never got the plate though.
they were obviously not insured/no licence.
I was coming down the road 5 mins after it happened in my friends car( mine was parked) and prob drove past em, just lucky we werent getting his baby out the back of mine when it happened.
the police wouldnt even come to the scene they told me to report it within 24 hrs and now im outta pocket, fkd insurance and the hassle of no car and the insurance to sort out

Im in the process of sorting out the claim now with the insurance company, god knows what they will offer me in £££? 40k, full service history, standard and mint??

i personaly get it repaired myself buy it off insurance company source a new rear wing door and all the other bits needed thats if you love it so much because it will go to a salvage auction and be repaired

nah get the car repaired you will regret it in the long run if you dont you will proberly get the car for back very cheap to me it will be a cat c so get it repaired down to the local dvla bingo back on the road if youve fallen out with it then sell it then you will make some money thats just my thoughts thats what id do scooby senior me

What a choker! Like you say, take your time thinking what to do and carry on counting the blessings like you already have. No one physically hurt and it does look repairable.
