Jay ,Jon at DNAcars has been showing some gorgeous cars with ridiculously low miles BUT it's all down to the price of the car plus the hidden charges from importing them and how much i can get from breaking my car ,as it's worth more in spares than a whole.
I'm a bit bored of white though

My car is only a part timer but I still want it easy to live with having children.

I was very concerned about buying an RA because of the low gearing. I bought it from API so had motorway driving on the way home and yes it was a bit tiring but no where near as bad as I expected.

Mines a WRC edition so has some comforts like A/C and leccy windows. Its a fantastic car IMO and such an improvement over my old UK car.

Theres a lad selling a WRC RA on TypeRa forum. Don't know anything about it but its quite cheap and they are lovely cars. Apart from DCCD I'm not sure what they lack compared to RA STIs - engine internal differences maybe buy turbo is the same and mapped they put out the same AFAIK. Insurance is much cheaper than STI too.

Whites the fastest colour and the only colour for a Type RA IMO it would be cheaper to buy one already in the country unless John can hook you up with a great deal.

If your at the Bank Holiday meet on Monday ill take you out in mine.. As you know Ang uses it everyday for work as well as our monthly trips to Wales in it so they are no more harder to live with than a normal scoob.

Yours is a little different to standard though Jay but if i can make it i will take you up on your offer.
Depends what deals Jon can get me also it's a matter of payment (he takes credit cards).
I'm going to see him on Sat so he can explain all the charges that will have to be paid.

Paul

£4,900Z Motor : SUBARU IMPREZA WRX Sti Ver 3 RA
(Nice)

£3,995
Racetech Cars limited : SUBARU IMPREZA STI RA FRESH IMPORT LOTS OF EXTRAS
(Remove the bodykit and lexus lights)

Someone on Type-RA.co.uk - Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA, Impreza WRX STi Type RA, Impreza Type RA V Limited, Scooby V. Ltd, visit the WRX forum & Subaru forum recently bought a stunning example - standard car (just as if it been driven off the production line) for not much £££s.

Rare to find one that hasn't been "tweeked".

A future "classic" car.........................maybe?

PS White is the fastest colour (probably)

I think the longer 5th wasn't much use because of the gap between 4th and 5th (may be completely wrong though)
It's quite odd that i've been on here for a few years yet now looking at buying a impreza with a different trim type it's like a whole new experience.

Think the big clue is that it has to have DCCD (was informed of this on another thread i started)

my RA is a daily driver and its fine.
dont know what the fuss is tbh, but this is my first scoob and I havent driven any other styles/models.

am used to shifting up early and once you're in 5th you dont need to change gear, the torque is more than enough to overtake, go with the traffic flow etc

it is slightly loud in the cabin but i either turn the stereo up, or turn it off and listen to the burble now that i've replaced my exhaust system

i've got electric windows but having no central locking or rear wash wipe is a bit of an inconvenience.

i'm happy with my RA, she does fine on motorway, town centre and B roads

When i got my RA, i wanted the raw version, with none of the toys that add weight, unlike some with all the extras, that efectively turn it into a standard WRX with a lower ratio box.
I have a fairly quiet system on mine, and it's fine on the motorway. It sits between 4-5k at cruising speeds, which makes overtaking a breeze, but with a loud system i imagine it being a bit painfull after a time!
Mine has the cdb, no elecy windows, elecy mirrors, central locking, abs, airbags, spoiler, etc, but you get used to it, after all it's a toy!
As for the performance, it makes all the above worth it! I had a classic UK 2000 before, with a 2.5 conversion running 320bhp, the RA was quicker standard. Now with 330bhp, it's insane!

Mines great though not out as a daily option it more a weekend toy.....

Use the motorways quite often & sitting at about 70mph you would forget what your sat in...thats till you touch the loud pedal then its fairly brisk.

I have a Ford Focus as a daily motor & my 1993-RA is far more comfortable than that

Once the Team Ice is fitted i guess that may be another story.....

He sent 3 lots 2 look relatively un modified and one that had no spoiler, bigger wheels ,possibly lowered a bit mmm for my liking though.

Depends what mods come on the car really i would prefer no ecu/engine extras.
Best one at the mo was 63000km grade 4B for a 97 car.

i'm just spoilt for choice at the mo damn it

Just a completely different car to what i have (a plain old 93wrx),i've not made my mind up to buy an RA, i could just go for a STI just the DCCD in the special version peaked my interest.

fair play.
Go for an RA then but if I were buying another classic I would choose the STI only.

But then my RA is a fully forged 2.5/PPG'd monster with over 430/430 track toy so hardly relevent
