Hi
I sold my TVR when my baby girl came along and have been keeping my eye open for something quick that would carry the family, toys etc..
A few days ago i picked up a 2004 wrx hatch back with the PPP on it. Nice car 53k on the clock. Over all i am very pleased with the car, i ticks all the boxes, however i have a nagging issue. The car appears to me to have a sever un-drivable lack of torque below 3k. Once 3k comes in.. it takes off and probably peaks at 4k. Is there something wrong or is this a characteristic. My uncle that had one years ago thinks its odd, but he has been driving around in a torquey BMW for a while. The guy i got the car from had a K&N on it but i had him put the standard air box back on before i bought it so it was a bit quieter (for the family). I didn’t notice a lack of torque when I tested it.
Is this normal... does anybody know a good specialist near Bristol/bath who could check it over for me?
Many thanks

Like Kevin say's you need to stay on boost to make the most of these cars ie quick changing of gears towards the naughty zone on the rpm counter...
Running out of steam at 4k doesn't sound to clever though...
I'd get it checked for the usual culprits though (MAF & cam sensors etc)

I think you've been spoiled with a n/a TVR! The PPP should make itself felt at around 2.5k. It shouldn't tail off until around 5800rpm. Are you running it on Super unleaded ie 99 RON?
