Question Whats the difference between Sti and Spec C intercoolers

Is there any difference between them and are there any performance gains of one over the other?

Thats what I have been lead to believe. So are there varients with the intercoolers from different version STI's? I thought they were all the same.

The intercooler I have just bought is different from the others I have seen, it has a cut out in the 'top chamber' where it sits over the rear engine support.
When I questioned the guy I bought it from he said it was because it was because it was from a Spec-c.

Also somebody on another forum said that the Spec-c version of the STI had a slightly larger intercooler over the STI's.

Any thoughts?

Just found one on fleabay the same, also listed as a Spec-c??

i'm guessing its where the gearbox mount thingy goes so implies the intercooler is slightly taller? or was there a difference on the gearbox mount on the Spec C which meant that stuck out further and got in the way of the standard intercooler?

Size of the intercooler never altered between Spec C and STi for the same year of manufacture, but as I said above the MY06-MY07 was smaller.

The truth of the matter is that by saying it is a Spec C Intercooler they are hoping to get more cash on eBay
