I thought that the Impreza UK300, was just a WRX with styling mods.

I don't think its a STi.

Its a Type UK STi, not a UK300

A UK300 is a bug http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2001uk300.html (performance pack to 245 optional)

A Type Uk - UK model of the STi, 265hp with suretrac front LSD, big scoop & spray, but no DCCD or twin scroll turbo. Did include an RAC Tracstar tracker fitted as standard, but that did not help when mine was stolen

Also included faulty front and rear shocks whose top bush wears quickly allowing the rear shocks to stick and knock, and the fronts to go loose

The DCCD was adjustable diff setings I'm led to belive, the Suretrack is the make of the limited slip diff...

Definatatly a standard WRX STI Type UK..the UK300's were all Bugeye's

If you ring Subaru they can tell you if the car has PPP or not. I beleive the certificates are known to get lost over time. They can also arrange a replacement.

Hi Amanda, welcome to S/net

As others have said you appear to have a Type UK STi, it should say Type UK on the boot. If it has a rear wiper then you have an import.

There are two editions of the UK300 - yours is neither!
The first was a bug eye STi and the second was a limited edition run out version of the blob eye WRX around 2005.

There are a couple of things that you need to watch out for.
As previously mentioned, there is a known problem with the rear shocks knocking and deteriorating. Listen for this on a test drive and ask if they have been already changed under warranty.
Check the service history particularly for the cambelt service which is done at 50k, although your milage is under 50k the car is over 5 years old and this should have been done or should be done as part of a pre sale service (or knock the cost off the sale price!)
You will need to check the spec for insurance declaration purposes. The wheels are non standard so it has already been modded. What other mods have been carried out? Has PPP been fitted or have any other performance mods been done? Call the previous owner to get the info.

Pricewise, if it's a standard car then I agree with Alsieboy.
Check here Value your car | Finance | Vauxhall Motors UK
for a free Glass's part ex valuation to give you an idea.
Good luck!

UK300

Name: Subaru-Impreza-WRX-UK300_1.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 62.8 KB

The UK300 was a joint project between engineers at Subaru (UK) Limited and Prodrive Limited of Banbury, with major styling work carried out by Peter Stevens who designed the famous McLaren F1 and Subaru WRC rally car. As it name suggests it was uniquely available in the UK and limited to 300 units.

Key changes include new headlamps featuring black gloss shells with twin high-intensity Hella light units identical to the Impreza rally car. Sitting above the twin lights are small diameter circular indicators. The new Peter Stevens designed front and rear aerodynamic aids reduce high-speed lift, enhancing tyre grip and handling control. For example, at 100 mph, front lift is reduced from 35.6 lbs to 27.8 lbs while rear lift goes down from 29.6 lbs to 20.7 lbs - a reduction of 25.6 per cent. Only one colour has been specified for the UK300 - WR Blue Mica - which is also extended to the WRX’s standard deep side skirts

The UK300 also boasts gold-coloured OZ 10-spoke alloy wheels measuring 18 ins by 7.5 ins and carrying the latest 225/40 Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres - up from the standard WRX’s already generous 17 x 7 ins alloys with 215/45 tyres. Other exterior enhancements include white side indicators and white front markers.

Inside, the UK300 features blue suede-effect seats - the front being the rally-style bucket type - plus matching door inserts. The potential collector’s car also has special deep-pile carpet and boot mats plus a limited edition numbered plaque.

Not only the exterior and interior are upgraded but the engine was fitted with the Prodrive WR Sport package. The secret to the £1,600 Prodrive WR Sport performance pack option is a reprogrammed Electronic Control Unit (ECU), uprated intercooler piping and free-flow exhaust system with a large single tailpipe. Both power and torque have benefitted from the package with a power increase from 218 bhp to 245.

WRX300

Size: 123.3 KB

The Impreza WRX 300 feature's a Prodrive Performance Pack boosting power to 265 PS and torque to 257 lb.ft for a 0-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds and top speed in excess of 145 mph.

Finished in WR Blue, the all-wheel drive saloon boasts special 17 ins alloy wheels with 215/45 tyres, an aluminium gear k**b, WRX-branded carpet mats and a ‘Subaru World Rally Team’ logo on the front seats and front lamp covers.

This is in addition to a raft of improvements for the ’05 Model Year WRX such as a totally revised chassis with inverted suspension struts and sharper-feeling steering for even more precise handling response.

Other changes for this year include enhanced interiors with plusher – and extended – cloth door trim, softer-feeling roof linings and a flush-fit centre console with new air-conditioning controls and new, quality-feeling switchgear.

It's neither of those..it's a standard WRX STI TypeUK..

The best way to tell if you have PPP on a Scoob is to look for the following...

* Blue Turbo to Intercooler Silicone Hose.
* Prodrive branded rear back box.
* A section of the exhaust centre section has been changed from a cat convertor to a de-cat pipe. (apprx 60cm in length)

Not so obvious...

* Uprated Fuel Pump
* Tuned ECU

And of course, there should be a PPP certificate in the first page of your service book and/or a stamp on the inside of the vehicle door.

Ask the dealer why he thinks its a UK300?
If he thinks the 300 refers to 300 hp on a PPP car then unless there is a PPP certificate treat it as a std STi and haggle some money off.

It appears to be a UK STi with some extra "pretty" mods plus different wheels.

amanda, all you have to do love is take it to a genuine subaru dealer, or alternatively just give them the reg.no. usually their database will tell you exactly what model it is and wether or not ppp is fitted. dont get disheartened by the mass hysteria created by some people they all mean well i am sure of that. just take your time buying, dont rush into anything and make sure you get the best deal you can as YOU are doing the DEALER a favour, NOT the other way around. best of luck, and welcome to scoobynet.

Thank you for the help guys. I was out today and it is a wrx sti not a uk300 as the v5 doc says it is. This was a error by the dvla which caused confusion for the dealer. We are chuffed to bits with the car and hoping to get lots of pleasure from it.

Am wanting to put an induction kit on it but is it as easy just to put it on or is it more complicated than that? Thank you again!

How much would I be for a pump and a re-map?

Is there anything on the car that I should up grade from standard? Not really after bigger bhp at the moment. Just stuff that commonly go wrong with this type of model!

was it ppp after all? if not whatever mods (induction kit, fuel pump , exh. sys. etc etc etc. the list can be endless) you get you should be getting a remap with the mods fitted.
