Brake up grade?
#2
i have recently upgraded my brakes due to upping my power by a considerable amount to newage brembo's (onto my classic) i can honestly say they are unbelievable compared to the 4 pots i had before it's one of my best upgrades.
got my hole set at a good price and have recently purchased some discs and performance friction pads from godspeed so they are even better.
brembo's would get my vote hands down.

Keep your eye out for Prodrive Alcons. [330mm]
I sold my 4 pots for £300 and got the Alcons for £550. The discs were like new and the pads had 8 mm so for £250 to change I now have some fantastic brakes that are a doddle to fit.

I have also upgraded my rears to two pots from a Newage. Have a look in my garage.
I got the set of discs and brackets from Ian Godney at Godspeed Barkes
Really easy to fit with the minimum fuss and you keep your rear hand brake bands too.

I got in on one of the K-Sport 8-Pot group buys, I then sold my 4 pots and got the whole upgrade within your budget. It might be worth considering as I think there's another one on now.

Drilling is not advised, it causes stress fractures in the metal which under extreme braking causes cracks to appear and then disc failure (normally quite badly) unless of course your like Porsche and cast your discs with the holes already in
Grooved are your best bet tbh.
