Digital camera on A34?
#1
Got a bit carried away on Friday on the very southern part of the A34 after soem people carrier acclerated to block me getting into the fast lane. The result was a heavy foot on the accelerator for a couple of miles. I am now worried about the possibliity of speed cameras on the extreme southern part of the A34. Are there any there? Thanks all.

...... you might be in trouble matey....... when I was working down that neck of the woods there was an old transit on a bridge between M4 and Compton/ East Ilsley turn off...... it was fully kitted out with cameras and laser....had POLICE on the side in small letters but yellow lights on the roof....just to fool you......and sometimes had a CCTV type camera on a tall pole......worked day and nights sometimes over 12 hr shifts........ sent the bosses Valentine 1 detector loopy so it must have been live......... if you were on that bit of road and it was watching you expect an NIP.....sorry mate

Richard, it was right at the beginning of the A34 heading North, way before East Ilsley. I hope they hadnt moved south or I may loose my lic. (for my first speeding offence, if caught!)

If it was between Abingdon / Oxford there are marked and unmarked VASCARS in operation - you would have been nobbled at the time.... if you're getting further North than that you will be in my neck of the woods ( near M40 ) and the only other surveillance I know of is around the Bortley interchange in the 50 limit and then on the A41 towards Bicester after the Wendlebury turn off......
