Question for webbie:
Do you have enough moderators, and have you got enough volunteers in the queue?
Either way, I would be happy to offer my services if and when they might be wanted.
What's the criteria anyway?
All the best

no offense, and this is not a dig, but I would not want to be a moderator on here if you paid me.
Its a hell of a lot of work, and very easy to offend people. It is nice that so many are willing to give up their time for little reward, but I spend too much time replying to threads to even consider editing other peoples words.
Thats the beauty of 22b.com, it doesnt take me much work to clean it up, but I can easily get what I need from it.

Thanks, I'll do that.

Your comment may well be fair enough and certainly no offense was taken
However I, like many, replied to to Simon's "Subscription Based Private Member's Only Forum" thread by saying that one of the things we need is more moderators.
I'm just backing up that statement by volunteering.
Be assured that I quite believe that the task is time consuming and thankless and that my offer to help is not some misguided notion of Scoobynet fame and fortune.
Perhaps Simon feels he has enough moderators - fair enough.
Perhaps there are others better suited that I also offering to help - fair enough.
I've been lurking and posting on the board for a couple of years now and I've learnt a lot and enjoyed it thoroughly.
If I can help in any way, then great.
If not, then I'll continue to enjoy it for free.

rich, i completely agree that more moderators are needed, and I have no doubt that the response to the aforementioned thread will have led simon to the same conclusion.
Perhaps more gloabl power is needed. why restrict moderators to oen forum. Surely if they can be trusted in one place, why not everywhere. statistically they are just as likely to contribute to general asthe rest of us, hwich I think is where the mess is, so why not give each moderator a specific task but also allow them all to mderate the under moderate forums such as general.
I cant imagine conflict of opinon is a problem, especially given the moderators forum providing a ground for discussion should it be necessary.
Perhaps a move such as this would mean that no more moderators would be required.
I hate to say it, and no stirring is intended, but perhaps it wasnt such a good idea to get rid of moray.
