That doesn't sound too good Dan, I generally run 88-90 degrees, but on a good run I have seen as high as 95. You shouldn't really need a cooler unless you are tracking the car and seeing temps into the 100s.

When we had the get together a couple of weeks ago and the temp was 25 degrees, even after a hard run around J17, I still only saw 95 degrees.
When did you last change the oil, especially as you don't use the car much?

Get the service done before you invest in a cooler and see what difference that makes. You may find that the oil change will make a difference as the oil has pretty much stood for most of the year.
Worth a try

I used silkolene fully synth from Opie oils on my last oil change. It's about £50 for 5 litres. Speak with Opie and he can give you a good recommendation for your car.
If you're doing the oil, remember coolant, gearbox, diff and brake fluid should be done 2 yearly. Also worth doing your PS fluid unless you know it's been done. Mine will be getting the works when I get back at Christmas

Would removing the big plastic undertray beneath the engine help oil temps drop a coupla degrees?
Could stick it back on in winter when the outside temps drop an the roads are wet and muddy.

Not really mate, remember oil has to get to the right temp before it starts to work properly if its too cold you will damage your engine, My spec c get up to 90 -100 on hard run, track days up to 110

I don't have an undertray on mine, never have since I bought it. I no longer have a gearbox undertray either as it was disguising an oil leak
I wouldn't expect it to affect temps that much, no more than a degree or two at most.

I had same problem, also with the oil pressure dropping until sourced one of Ralphs @Milsport complete with stat full fitting kit ect, good price too. No higher than about 82deg and oil pressure perfect now as the hotter the oil gets the thinner it gets thus lower pressure, happy days
