I think I have decided to bite the bullet and take a look at ordering a UK spec car from Europe leaving me lots of money for goodies, headlights, PPP (when out) etc. Can anybody advise me on the good importers, tips, and any good or bad experiences from doing this?

Trade sales - Slough - £17999 - not worth the hassle of EU imports at that price.

Fizz - Mate!

And there I was banking on you upgrading to a certain redundancy enforced MY99 sale!

Just brought mine back from Holland last week the Dealer Frits Kempen (Phone 0031 45531 2398) is superb he had 2 other UK cars awaiting collection. He knows all about the import paperwork process and makes it very easy. The care to detail by Frits was superb, car was immaculately presented, flowers & chocolates for the wife and put us up in his house in Maastricht and took us out for a Cantonese meal. Where will you ever get a car purchase experience like that??? Full details of my importing experience can be found at the importing imprezas email group.

If you are serious about importing you should join the importing impreza group @

Thanks Keo.

Squizz. Would love your car, but at theses prices I would be silly to turn it down!

Fizz,

I bought my MY00 from Belgium (Subaru Vilvoorde)last year.

The process of importing was very easy and I received an excellent service from Alliance Car Imports (www.alliancecarimports.co.uk/).

The only down side was the wait for delivery. I placed the order in April and received the car seven months later in November. Lots of waiting followed by some frantic activity arranging payment, registration and collection.

Alliance organised everything except the payment and nothing went wrong, the documents (inc. VAT invoice) all arrived correctly and the car was ready for pick up in Dover when arranged.

You will need to fit a CAT1 alarm and locking wheel nuts when you pick it up.

Send me an e.mail if you want a price breakdown.

Mike
