Default Is this engine screwed or what!.

This car of mine is getting on my **** now, bought my hawkeye sti about 11 weeks ago and have had oil issue's sinse day one, should have took it back really but the car drives great anyhow to cut the story short its been useing about half a litre to a litre per 1000 miles but take it past 6000 revs and its going down quicker than that with a puff of smoke in the morning for good measure.
Its now under the eye of prosport now who dipped the car's oil and said you need to reverse the dipstick to get a accurate reading, in this case there's been to much in so is it burning of excess.
In the end i'm reluctant to sell the car as it drives so well but i feel its going to be a warrenty nightmare which is up in 6 months. Is this engine a ticking timebomb ready to blow or is it going to act like this for years, anybody experienced symptoms like these.thanks for any advice.

if its under warranty take it to the dealers and let them worry bout it.
then when they make their decision you can make yours, i.e to sell or not.

So now you have reversed the dipsick as Propsport have advised, is it still burning/using oil?

Means; take out the dipstick and rotate it 180 degs (clockwise or anti-clockwise ) before inserting it again. IMHO

Out of interest, do you have a couple of stickers inside your petrol flap ?

I noticed my JDM STI (also around 11 weeks in my possession, but 4+ years old) had 2 stickers telling me to check oil levels every week. One on the filler cap, one on the inside of the flap.

When I contacted Powerstation, I mentioned oil usage plus a puff of smoke at startup, they said some of the STIs do that. I'm thinking of a compression check, as I'm wary about caning it, given the mileage (60k), and that it's had a replacement turbo.

People have told me allsorts of info and to be fair its left my head spinning, reversing the dipstick is a new one to me too but the guys at prosport are very knowlegeable and are also subaru dealers, and yes the oil is still going down but not past the half a litre a 1000 mile unless you take it past 6000 rpm it goes down a lot quicker and will then cause this puff of smoke on first turnover in the morning.
The sti itself has done only 11000 miles and had 8000 on the clock when purchased it just seems strange to me a car that drives this quick and smooth has got symptoms relateing to something that's knackerd.
I suppose its heading for a short motor unless anybody's got anymore ideas.thanks.
