It depends on the CEL code.......things like camshaft sensor errors are not going to damage the engine and they go out after about 5 engine restarts ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anything the ECU thinks is dangerous will stay on the Denso ECU EPROM untill deleted by an ECU reset via the OBD II port under the steering wheel.
Disconecting the batery is not going to solve it........which error code do you have ??
