Default Airbag?

I have a 06 WRX I want to change the steering wheel
For a race wheel.

But WARNING: The replacement of the steering wheel on cars equipped with airbag systems will disable both the functioning of the airbag system of the driver and that of the front passenger or any other airbag fitted in the car. For cars equipped with airbag systems, these steering wheels are intended for racing use only. Do not attempt to install this kit yourself unless you have been properly trained in the installation and maintenance of car steering wheels. Do not attempt to install this kit without having previously read the instruction manual. Incorrect installation can lead to a steering wheel failure which can cause an accident resulting in serious personal injury or death.

Is there any way I can change the wheel and keep side airbag ECT working?

Thanks for any help

It will put any buyer who wants to purchase your car after you off making it harder for you to sell your car, also removes a good safety device, and may increase your insurance premium!

Really not many people do this now as most steering wheels look pretty sporty anyway

If you are still intent on doing so, then a mechanic will be able to disarm the airbag system and replace your wheel, and if you don't inform your insurance co, it may invalidate your insurance!

What are you trying to achieve?

Is it to big, do you just not like it?

I think if you disarm the steering wheel bag then all will not work, you could speak with your local dealer though to see if they can do anything, Ford said they could turn off the passenger bag on my old Focus ST so I could fit a baby seat in the front.

its just to big or maybe my legs are to long
dose not feel good with the driving i do.

i thought that when you fitted a resistor with the new wheel it fooled the car to thinking it was still armed
