I have just within the last couple of hours ordered a new Impreza WRX with the headlight conversion
Only problem is that the car won`t be here until July. talk about frustrating.
While I`m here could some fellow scoobyite inform me what sort of mpg I`m likely to see.

regards

Thumbs up

Well done - you won't regret it

Except when it comes to fuel consumption

Probably not good, 20-25 depending on your foot. Worse if very heavy.

However, the smiles per gallon far exceed the cost

Well done on a great choice, now you have 4 months to save for a full exhaust kit.

Well done M8 !

I suspect you've ordered an import with a delivery time like that.
Waiting for mine, but its a UK supplied car. There are about four of us in South Yorkshire who will be driving a new WRX who regularly contribute to this bbs.

Welcome aboard

Hi Greg - another shortly to be WRX owner here, as Yorkie knows. Join the club for a potential South Yorks meet in the near future. What colour are you going for, and is it a 4 or 5 door? By the headlight conversion, I'm assuming you mean Morettes? Or have you gone for the Prodrive thingies?

Hi Harry_Boy

Have you had a fingernail transplant yet ? Had mine this morning, but I've chewed through 'em already. Horrid plastic taste.

Seriously, have you heard 'owt about yours yet ?

Me: Nothing yet

Gregarious,

I am sure Harry_Boy, WRXBOB and myself can keep you informed as to what MPG we are getting (when two of us get our cars that is).
I have a MY99 Turbo at the moment and the best I get is 26 mpg (out of town driving). Around town I get the low 20's. Don't worry, its not that bad, considering the performance its good

Mondeo V6 would struggle to get that kind of mpg, and that is nowhere near as quick

Hi Greg. As Yorkie says, the mpg is equivalent to most other stuff with similar performance. Although I used to have a VR6 Corrado that managed 30 mpg. What an engine....

Having said that, a colleague is running a V6 Pug 607 (Yup, I know...), and that's only getting in the low 20's.

Great to hear from you all
I have ordered a WR blue one with the morettes headlights
I think I`m also going to go for a new gearstick ****
probably one of the momo ones, anyone know best place to get one?
I ordered my new WRX from Bentleys of Sheffield. They used to be Subaru main dealer but now offer parallel imports not grey imports.
They come with full uk spec and much cheaper than other prices I got

Greg - take it from me, the WR Blue with Morettes looks the biz.

Bob, how are you finding the light output on your Morettes with Vision Plus? I guess you must be doing a lot of night driving... I understand you're already heading for the 7,500 mile service!!

I did manage 23.5mpg on one tankfull of motorway driving, but mostly getting 19mpg.

It's a good job I didn't buy it for its fuel economy !

After driving one of my work vans for a few months while waiting for delivery the temptation is too much to resist...

BOB

Have you got yours? Think I saw a thread about you having a ******** alarm system fitted so guess you have!

Watch out for a silver WRX...its being driven by a complete to$$er

And another CORNER taken with ease...
