Default UK 2000 info wanter

I was wondering if anyone on here knows much about uk 2000's. I want to know everything you can tell me (I will explain in a week or two).
Whats the BHP
What are the build numbers
What are the specs
What are the faults
etc etc etc

All I know so far is that they were made in 1999 - 2000 and aircon was an option.

Cheers guys
Tim .

First thing you probably need to understand is that everything you already know is wrong.

The "Impreza Turbo 2000" was the name given to all UK market turbocharged Imprezas made between the car's introduction here in '94 and its replacement by the GD chassis in late 2000. So, your assumption that this car only existed between 1999 and 2000 isn't correct.

Sweet, I have my first bit of info. I have been fed some incorrect information about the dates then.
Aircon was standard then?

Apart from the Prodrive certificate are there any other ways to tell the Prodrove versions?

Is that the PPP one with 37k (or is it 33k) on the clock?

unfortunately not, I wish it was, I dont think this is a PPP one, but its a proper barn find. Fingers crossed it will work out and I will update you if it happens.
I swore I would not get another classic but then from out of nowhere this little beauty turned up.

Tim if it's a proper standard UK 99 it will be a phase 2 engine, facelifted bumpers/bonnet/front grille, should have black side skirts and mirrors and door handles I think (handles and mirrors got colour coded for 2000), mid height spoiler (not a big STi job or a flat 2 inch high version but the mid level one), white dials, sports seats, 4 pot front calipers with Subaru raised writing in white, 16 inch alloys with 5 spokes I think (will have to find a pic) etc.

It should also have an 801 ECU not the 802 of the 2000 MY and run out models.

Power is quited at 215 but is usually a wee bit more due to the less emission conscious ECU.

If I think of anything else I will add it.

My standard 99 has colour coded mirrors and door handles with black side skirts. I thought they were also 218BHP?

That's interesting as I bought a MY99 (T reg) amd thought I had to have the mirrors and handles coded, but maybe I am wrong. Maybe it was just the skirts.

There was definitely something different coding wise between the 2000 and 1999 cars.

Awesome thanks for that, It has black mirrors and handles. And everything else you listed.
This car is mint, has all the original stickers around the body etc. When it was new it was bought by an Englishman who moved to Italy, The car has lived in a dry warm climate and recently come back to England to be sold.

History is amazing too, I am yet to find a fault. Plan is to get it and keep it as OS as possible.
There are too few mint originals about so I feel like I might be preserving a bit of history.

I have seen a 98 wagon with leather, I think it was an import and and option over there. There is someone on here, I cant remember who has black leather in a green MY99.
But your right, It does seem to be pretty rare.

You are welcome, I thought the black mirrors and handles was right. Loads of people had them colour coded, but I was sure they were supplied unpainted.

Sounds an amazing find. Get some pics up if you get it

Seriously look at the way mint Cossies are sought after now, that's the Scoob in 10 years time. A mint uber low milegae 1999MY will be worth a small fortune.

I have been told that MY99 models DID NOT HAVE COLOUR CODED MIRRORS/HANDLES. Apparantly all MY00 were colour coded as standard, it was pointed outto me this is one way to tell MY99/MY00 difference.

MY99 has full black leather/doorcards, Aircon AND a electric tilt/slide sunroof. Yipee!

What is confusing, Tony by 'map lights' do you mean the little ones above rear view mirror? Mine has these....

I never knew that, I wish the RB5 has a aluminum bonnet as well.

Look forward to seeing photos of the barn find

As far as I recall leather was an opton on both 99 and 00 but was not a factory fit. Usually a dealer's local upholsterer got the gig.

Seen a few with leather.
