Default New bloke with new scoob

Well, Ive been around a few years as a lurker and the time finally came for me to buy a Impreza. So I purchased a very nice UK turbo yesterday.
Now, being from a world of VW and Pugs I know absolutley nothing about half the stuff my car has had done to it. Could someone tell me if any of the mods listed are any good?!

Turbosmart adjustable Dump Valve

Tein coil over suspension

MY01 WRX 17” alloy wheels

Perrin Positive Steering Response System Kit

stainless steel exhaust system including 100 cell sports CAT

K & N Air Filter

Up rated anti roll bar links

STi Strut Brace

Crystal Clear front indicators and side lights

Oh and how much and where to go for a remap around northants area

turbosmart dv..a questionable mod tbh, alot say the standard one is the best bt if you choose to have one then turbosmart are a respectable maker aswell as HKS,forge aps ect..vta dump valves can cause issues with poor idle, flat spots..and bad fuel consumption

coil overs are a good suspension mod, but can be harsh for road use
exhaust system all ways a good modification ( especially decat or sports cat) what make?

up rated arbs , top modification..alot of people say they are the best value mod you can buy.
K&N filter another good mod..quite a few good panel filters out there
STi strut brace, not to sure if the make a difference..look good though
crystal lights...definatly the way to go..get rid of the standard orange ones

as for remapping you will be looking from around £450 upward, there are some very good mappers around like JGM, Bob Rawl,Andy forrest to name a few and some will travel to you to do it

Most of the mods sound good (possibly with the exception of the dump valve). Hopefully the K&N is a panel filter not an induction kit (bad news).

As for remap, you need to go no further than Zen in Wellingborough. Paul is regarded as 1 of the best in the business.

I shall start saving my pennies for a remap
Has anyone got a pic of the standard dump valve?

Yes the filter is a panel. How come an induction kit is a bad idea?

If you are happy with the dump valve, then that's fine. Its just that they can be a bit chavvy.

Induction kits tend to make Scoobs run badly unless they are remapped with them on. The panel filters are usually much better unless you are running huge power.

I'm guessing your car is a 'classic', i.e. pre 2001. Oily air filters and induction kits can give them problems.

Cheers for your help

Yeah the cars a MY99 Classic. I know only to well never use oily filters having gone through many MAFs in my Leon Cupra.

Exactly. Its the MAF that gives the grief.

I assumed from your username that you were yet another to come from a Pug 306.
