I have got a 1.8GL Subaru (1993) despite having a 2lt engine with big turbo, it has RA parts i:e roof scoop., type RA Nardi steering wheel and light weight parts. I have read that Subaru imported six subaru into the country with 2lt turbo engines. However, for UK car certificate reasons they had to be registered as a 1.8gl. Three went to Prodrive and three were retained by Subaru UK and subsequently sold on. The vin number starts with GC8.
I want to verify if this is correct as I think i may own one of the six which i am currently restoring it. Does anyone have any information on these models?

thanks guys, cant wait for it to be back on the road, just bought a import wrx 1998, it shpuld have at lease 240bhp, its been stood for 5yrs so going to change the cam belt, oil pump, oil cooler and put a front mount intercooler with a full service. the interior is alot nicer too.
