What bhp is your modded Hawkeye STi producing?
Hello all,
I have a modded WRX bug at the mo and was considering buying an 06 Sti, changing the exhaust, fitting Prodrive springs, Pagid pads then having it remapped.
What bhp is your remapped Hawkeye 2.5 Sti producing?
I see that some of the Scooby tuning companies suggest 340bhp, but I understand that 360 bhp/390 lb/ft has been achieved by the likes of Andy Forrest/Bob Rawle?
Any thoughts much appreciated.

I've changed the back box and resonated section, leaving the cats alone, and had a safe remap by JGM @ 340bhp/360ftlbs. I need the car to be 100% reliable as its used as my daily car. Forgetting about the figures for a minute, more than anything it makes it so much better to drive. The power is available everywhere, its smoother and is slightly better on MPG. The best way to describe it is 4th now feels like 3rd used to, 5th like 4th and so on.

Little bit.
Difficult to explain but it's a different feeling to the classic I have and MY03 WRX I had.
There is an element of detachment when you plant your right foot, not so much in the delivery of power but the feedback you get from the peddle. It's just different and needs getting used to.
JDM hawks still have cable.

I have an 06 STi. Bought it with FMIC, CAIK, full turbo-back decat, mapped to 353 BHP by Pat Herborn. I did not like the lag of the FMIC and refitted a stock TMIC and Pat remapped it to 341 BHP but much more driveable and an improvement in fuel consumption. As my daily drive it is more than enough power. I recommend you have a sensible zorst (my Magnex is a bit load when you drive 800 miles in one go) and one does not need more than 340 BHP unless you want to race. Torque and driveability are much more useful on the road. And good suspension. Coilovers make so much difference IMHO. I bought the car with Prodrive Springs and 18" low profile tyres - holy cow it bounced all over the road and felt unsafe. Ok for a track maybe. I went back to stock wheels and tyres, and BC Coilovers, and the ride is so much better. Maybe the previous set-up was good for the track but the confidence now is much better so I probably corner better anyway.
Summary: Stock STi: stock wheels, coilovers (don't lower it - watch Brett Midleton of MRT on Youtube fit coilovers. He says it is not adviseable) , de-cat the zorst, CAIK (K&N), re-map by a good mapper. Luxuries; Gauges and an oil cooler. Oh and a GFB DV helps the turbo with gearchanges, set to recirc not "Tish" that's for kids (it kills your fuel consumption) Then fully ester synthetic oil everywhere. The next things to be fiddled with are the suspension components. Peter

i have decat downpipe, decat link pipe, H&S center section and a Ninja 2 backbox. it is 2.5" system
the noise is a awesome roar when accelerating and doesnt destroy your ears when cruising at motorway speeds!
tickover is a nice burble
I know someone who had a hawkeye sti who had the STI panel filter, walbro fuel pump and 3" magnex de-cat exhaust and mapped by Bob Rawle and achieved 382BHP and 428ft/ib

Was on here a lot when I was modding the bug (or should that be getting the modding bug?!). Ended up being a bit too much, so decided to dip in every now and then!
