Ok I guess you have all discussed this a million times,I am new to the game and it shows !!
Which is the best backbox/exhaust and why ??
Further to that if you had a limited budget what mods would you spend your well earned on.
I hope this starts some discussion !!!

Agree with Blow Dog, great noise. I'm getting one fitted in the next week or so, to compliment my Scoobysport down pipe, and soon to be fitted centre section. Fantastic noise, not obtrusive inside the car, and greater engine response. A must have!

Cambelt,
I found that the Scoobysport was a little deeper on tickover and a little louder on full throttle, but just as quite inside. Not much in it really.
Some people say the Scoobysport build quality is better but again not much in it.
It will come down to if you are prepared to pay an extra £100 for the Scoobysport over the Magnex.
The Magnex now comes with a choice of tail pipes. 6X4 oval, 3.5" round or 4" round

Cambelt,
Both a friend at work and I fitted full Magnex systems 3.5" round, and you cannot beat them especially at that price. Both are a high grade of stainless (304) I think and have lifetime guarentee's. Try Falkland Performance, 10% discount for SIDC members and next day delivery. Scoobysport one looks nice as well though and certainly has a good following.

I find that the SS downpipe and the HKS Hiper centre section and backbox (No cats)to have a pleasant little note. Hehehehe.
Just sold my magnex backbox got £50 for it. Bet I could have got £200 for the SS Backbox.
Go for the SS Backbox its worth the extra money.

I bought a second hand SS backbox, and love it to bits. Seems (probably only seems) to allow the turbo to spin up a tad earlier.
It's noisier than standard, but not too loud. Hell, even my wife loves the noise now!
Next mod is the downpipe...

I'm with what seems to be the majority of people - the scoobysport. I've got a full system recently and it is fantastic. I had the backbox done a while ago, so if funds are short I'd go for this first (for the looks and sound), and then put on the full system.

I've been given a "get out of jail free" card for Dono by the missus, so I shall be in attendance. Is anyone going who has a
* 5 door UK with scoobysport back box
* 5 door UK with scoobymania back box
who is willing to take me for a wee spin down the road so I can hear what it sounds like inside?
Thanks

Robman,
If you're fitting a ScoobySport exhaust to a 5 door I would get some sounddeadening and fit it under the boot carpet as the extra airspace does make the exhaust sound a little boomy - however you can't hear it with the rear windows open so you can hear the exhaust outside

Magnex centre and backbox and no complaints. The SS are more expensive and I'm sure you get what you pay for but then that £100 will get you some Turbo groove EBC front disks!
All sccobs should have a non-standard exhaust (though, I guess then it would be standard ) as they all sound wonderful!
