Depends if your buying private or from an import dealer?
Biggest things to look for are smoking turbos, piston slap, head gaskets, wheel bearings (basically your usual) ensure its been fully serviced (also brakes take a hammering so uprated ones a bonus ) have to make sure its ALWAYS been run on a MINIMUM of SUL or Optimax as 97ron fuel is the least you can put in this type of car.
Gearboxes and clutches get hammered alot too, also check for body damage/repairs, mis-alignment etc as not all subaru drivers can drive the car properly so accidents do happen.
For other info check out www.sidc.co.uk
Regards
Tony
(ps regarding fuel, dont tell them that its meant to be run on sul, let them tell you!)
