Hi All,
There is a knocking noise on my drivers front side suspension.
When I go over a pot hole or man hole etc, there is a knocing noise. Passangers side is fine.
The shock is AST and is only 6 weeks old, an ideas of anything it could be and ways to chek etc?
Cheers all!

more than likely its either the inner or outer track-rod end.. if you jack up that side and move the wheel back and forth, then check for play on both track-rod ends

Tried to push the car down this morning and its way to hard to move. I have noticed that it only knocks on a hole, not on a bump like a speed hump. on steeering its fine etc, just pot holes. anything like antiroll bar bushes etc?

steering might feel fine, but you wont really no till you jack up and check for play...
while you have it jacked you can also check for play in the wishbone balljoint, and just by moving the wheel in every direction you should be able to find where its coming from

Sorry, Don't know to be honest, never needed to look under a Hawkeye..
You need to take the tension off the drop links to check for play..

There is no play when rotating the hub etc so I would guess the track rod ends are OK?
There didnt seem to be any play in the bottom ball joint either.
Might be the new shock has failed.

rotating the hub wont tell you if there gone, hold the hub at 3 and 9 o'clock positions and move the hub harshly back and forth in the direction of the steering to check for play, probs easier if the wheel is on so you can get a better grip but wheel needs to be off the ground on the side your checking..
