Default Sat Nav

Folks,
Going out to get a sat nav for my Hawkeye at the weekend, as had one in previous car and now kinna miss it on my many journeys and back to getting lost again.......

Does anyone have one that they would recommened? Have about £250 max I can spend although v.happy if any good ones out there that are even less as I can then spend the saving on a wee night out.

Any help on the sat nav appreciated.

Take a look at HP iPAQ PDA | TomTom GO | TomTom ONE | GPS Sat Nav | Palm Smartphone | Total PDA. Brought my TOM TOM XL off there a few weeks back. Good service and cheap too!

If you want a 'loose' one you can't beat the Navman for cost / facilities. The S30 I think was the smallest for around £70 check out Amazon / Argos etc

I've used a few different makes, but have always thought TomTom come out top.

I've got a tomtom 730, and it has recently just got me all round europe without a glitch, was really impressed!!

Tomtom xl uk and ireland, unless you going abroad, get tomtom home on your comp and you can get updates every week,i also bought the map updates for £25 for a year which is 4 updated maps.i,m a wagon driver and use it every day, dont bother with the more expensive tomtoms as they have nothing the xl hasnt got(thats usefull that is)you can get free traffic with a £20 tomtom aeriel off ebay, just plugs in underneath.if your bothered about speed cameras, spend the extra money on a proper camera thingy like snooper cos tomtom camera updates is abismal(sh*te)

To add to last nights pm mate, this looks like a good one and on budget.
Snooper Syrius Proline : Products : The Sat Nav Company, satellite navigation systems from Snooper, Tom Tom, Garmin, Navman, Road Angel, Mio, Magellen

From reading a bit about it,it looks like the snooper is a proper speed camera detector with added sat nav, whereas tomtom is a dedicated satnav which i cant fault, but the cameras are pish.

If you read all the details on the one above as well, there a special offer at the end,£99 for lifetime updates and a new map every year, well worth the money if your gonna keep it a while
