Default 4 Pot Upgrade-Is It Worth It???

Early classic with NO ABS. The F/O/S is sticking/binding. I stripped and cleaned them about a year ago but now back to square one Gonna fit new discs and calipers but.......

Question is, would i improve my stopping by fitting a set of 4 pots??

I can't see how, i my eyes it will just lock up sooner will it not

All advice welcome, ta

I am on standard 2's at this time. Was just wondering if it's worth the extra expense of upgrading to 4's due to the fact i have no ABS

Its better modulation, better resistance to heat, better pad choice. etc etc

Worth it IMHO, but its really only 1 step up from what you have where as AP's would be 5 LOL

yep done mine and i've found i don't get brake fade (even when using standard pads/discs) that i did with the 2 pots.
Also depends on your wheel size as well as they don't fit underneath early wheels ,i had to go for late model wheels.

Definitely a worthwhile modification. Finding a fit pair could be quite a task though. Most offered for sale now are f*cked! Id either buy very cheap or just go straight to Ian Godney and buy a refurbed set.

I would definately recommend this upgrade for your classic. It's worked great on mine and really improved the braking characteristics of my Impreza.

I agree, get a set of refurb'd calipers off Ian Godney (Godspeed Motorsort) along with his 335mm disc/pad upgrade etc and your brake worries will be over for good

definitely worth it mate. i got calipers, discs and red stuff pads, for less than than it would cost for 2 tanks of fuel! great bloke off hear that happens to live round the corner from me. cheers again. i managed to get a brand new set of four goodridge braided lines for 20 notes too. they come with a transferable lifetime guarantee too. its a weird feeling at first as you get no fade and a firmer press on the pedal. i wanted to try them out for real so i did 30mph, had a look around, made sure the road was clear and i absolutely hammered the brake pedal and i stopped so hard it nearly launched me through the windscreen! my old 2 pots with new discs and pads and rubber hoses couldn't do the same thing. worth every penny if you get a decent set mate. i'm led to believe that DS2500 pads are the best money can buy but without having the ability to compare, my red stuff are pretty good with minimal dust.
