McRae Gathering Presentation of funds
Sunday 9 August 2009
Chester Racecourse, New Crane Street, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 2LY
Access and Parking
There is only one entrance into the site. This will be used to enter and leave
the racecourse.
To avoid congesting Chester town centre, please approach from the west.
If you are coming off the M56, go on to the A5480, following the signs for
Chester Racecourse.
Left onto A548 Sealand Road, then New Crane Street.
The racecourse will be on your right after the arches.
In case of excess traffic, you will be directed into the nearby Sealand
Industrial Estate, which we will be using as a temporary holding area.
Please follow the instructions of the marshals in this instance.
The sequencing of traffic lights further along at the railway bridge, supported
by our marshals, should avoid a buildup of stationary traffic waiting to turn into
the racecourse.
Once you have parked, you will need to walk back the way you came in, past
the Owners and Trainer’s pavilion then left at the parking attendant booth,
through the car park in front of the stands.
The presentation will take place at the Dee Stand, located at the far end of the
site.
PLEASE NOTE:
- if you park in the open grass area you are requested to stay to the end
of the presentation, approx finish time 2pm. This is due to the volume
of traffic we are expecting and also the one entrance/exit gate.
- there will be a 10 minute walk to where the presentation is taking place,
to the Dee Stand.
Please let the marshals know if this is a problem for you/your
passengers before you park, once you are in the grassed car park we
cannot let your car out until the end.
- If you are not staying for the full event and need to leave early, let the
marshals know when you turn into the racecourse and you will be
directed to an alternative parking area.
Exiting the site
When you leave the site, turn left, back towards A548 Sealand Road.
Motorways will be clearly signposted.
