I have a classic Subaru Impreza 5 door turbo MY 1999 which I have owned from new and never had any technical issues with it. However in the past couple of years it seems to be going through rear wheel bearings at an alarming rate and I have replaced three sets so far. They last no more than 12 months and less than 6,000 miles has anyone else experienced this?
The replacement wheel bearings have been patents parts not Subaru ones and that might be the issue. Does anyone have recommendations on a good make a wheel bearing to use?

Ive had the same problem on my 97 classic WRX. I was going through bearings in about 5k or so. Used genuine bearings and aftermarket ones and the same problem. I now have changed the entire hub assembely got one 2nd hand from Jap Performance Parts for £80. And touch wood it seems to have cured the problem
