Hawkeye - Windscreen Misted/Steamed Up

Purchased a 56 plate Hawkeye about 2 months ago and love the car. One small fault that I've come across and unsure if this is a one off fault with my car or anyone else experienced it -
In heavy rain when driving the windscreen totally mists up/steams up to the extent that it is almost impossible to drive the car. When the air fan is up full this has no impact at all, and the windscreen only clears when I put on the air con. Surely I shouldn't need to put on the air con everytime it rains, as god forbid what it would be like all winter!!!!!!!
Any help appreciated guys - car has full year warranty so can take it back to garage for review but curious to see if anyone else experienced problem.
Thanks.

Think my old Hawk used to mist up pretty easily, just used to leave the heater controls set to front screen with low fan speed and it seemed to be fine, only got bad if you got in the car wet and it misted up pretty quickly, quick blast of ac and it cleared, never used to bother me though.

Had same problem on my 07 sti, brought it back to the dealer and was shown how to overcome this. turn the left hand control to windscreen or windscreen/floor, middle control to auto and the temp control air con light should come on leave it on.
hope that sorts it. dealer told me this was stated in the manual, never checked.

It happens with most air con vehicles, it could be the pollen filter is damp or/and dirty and the aircon "heat" exchanger usually condenses quite a bit on some vehicles it looks like theres a water leak as water drips from under the car,Oh sometimes you get a bad smell thats another sign that yer pollen filter wants changin...

I may be wrong but my mate had this problem on his STI, he told me there was a filter behind the glove box which was literally a couple of screws to get at, he took the filter out cleaned and put back, all good.
Now that may sound like a load of cr*p but im going on what he said? may help lol
