Default warms up too fast?

Evening all I have a Blobeye STI which ive recently purchased, having not had one of these before I noticed that the car gets upto tempreture very quickly, within say 1 minute or half a mile of steady driving from cold, much quicker that all the other performance cars ive owned... is this a common thing with the STI

The water temp may get there quite quickly but the oil will still be pretty cold
Water temps always get there quickly on all the scoobs ive had, both classic and new age.

Yes its normal I raised the same query a few years ago when I got my first my03 wrx, give it at least 20 or so mins before you give it some beans, dont go off the dash temp gauge.
