Hi guys as you know my MY2001 JPN spec STI is on its way here.

I am curious what this 'underseal' is all about. I take it the JPN spec's don't have the underseal ?

What is this underseal and what are the advantages / disadvantages of it ?

I live in The Bahamas and as you know we have salty air and a pretty harsh environment....will not having the underseal lead to premature rusting, corrosion etc ??

Is it worth looking into having it sealed and why don't they do it in Japan ?

Cheers,
Ray

From memory, underseal protects the underneath of the car. lower bodywork etc from corrosion. I would say it's a very good idea to get it done.

Also, a lot of people are'nt up(or even gone to bed yet) at 5am on a Sunday in the UK so you'll probably have to wait a while for a more informed opinion than mine.

I can't say whether or not you need it in the Bahamas but in England, due to the amount of rain, and salt put down on our roads in winter, it's a must.....
