Hi All,
I have had a knocking noise on my drivers front susspension for some weeks now thats getting worse all the time.
It only happens going over a pot hole, i.e susspension dropping, not speed humps, susspension raiseing.
At the weekend I took the strut off to check for play in all bushes, track rods, ball joints, drop links etc.
Everything seemed nice and tight.
All I could find is if I pushed down on the strut and let go, there was a firm feel of the shock hitting the end stroke.
Now i would have thought there would be either a rubber bush or oil etc that would stop a hard rebound etc?
The strut is only a month old or so from AST and AST just said "There is no rubber bush inside them" so what stops all the other shocks being the same on the car or should there be something that stops the rebound hitting the top of the strut etc?
Cheers.

I had a similar problem on mine, rear was knocking over speedhumps. Upon inspection it was obvious since oil was leaking from the strut. There is oil and gas in there, perhaps if the shock looks Ok then it could be the gas has leaked?
