impreza is from Italian for achievement or feat. (whether or not this is what the japs actually knew i don't know or even if it's true)
Subaru is unite or the star cluster the Pleiades (hence the badge)

Indeed Subaru does translate at the Pleiadies, which inturn is known as The 7 sisters (7 stars). Fuji heavy industry goofed on that 1 as there is only 6 companies that make up FHI, Subaru being 1 of them.

I was staying in a very swanky Polish house the other week and there was some sort of touch screen on the wall for the security system. One of the settings was 'Impreza'
I was told it means party type setting or something, random but interesting (or maybe not

Hi everyone at scoobnet,
I read somewhere a while ago that subaru is something to do with a star sign in japan the stars in the badge represent their equivalant of taurus, I might be wrong?
But to me the words subaru and impreza mean that I am always skint
