Hiya,

Your car would have been built with an open diff at the front & a viscous LSD in the centre and rear diff's.

There are no warning lamps or indications of how the transmission is performing, so it's all down to the feel really.... As long as you don't have any horrible noises noises coming from the transmission and there is no tugging at the wheel, clunking or unwillingness to roll freely, when manovering on full lock, then things are fine.

Great Impulse buy I have too say.

Phil

great thats fantasstic so rather than tranfering power to each wheel it transfers it to each axle. i suppose this is why its so good in snow and mud? it seem fine drive fine and rolls forwards and backwards in neautral quite freely.

These cars are normaly very good in the wet & easy to drive quickly with confidence, to the point that if your brave enough to get into trouble, you are going to be traveling fast enough to have a big accident.

The mix of tyres would have killed the handling, so my first point of call would be a decent set of tyres followed by a full geometry set up by someone who knows how to set up a Subaru.... The difference should make her a pleasure to drive in the wet & run like she's on rails in the dry.

Yeah I did gather I mean it's good in the dry even with a mix of tyres in the wet as soon as I steer it starts to let go who would know how to do it? The setup
for a scoob that is.

Depends on where you are really, but I would find a Subaru specialist with the proper equipment, rather than go to one of the tyre company's who have the equipment but don't know how to use it properly.
