hi, ive had 2 battery,s on my 04 wrx. had it from new. if the battery is over 2 years old then just replace it. once a battery stops holding its charge its time to change it, else you,l get stranded somewhere, jason

Buy a good quality charger, I extend the charger leads so I can feed it through the "letterbox" in mi door an have it plugged in when I'm not usin it.Dont know wot or how old a gb 270 is, but a (decent) battery should last fer more than 5 years.

Original batteries tend to go flat within 2 weeks without use, especially if you have extra alarms or Tracker. Get yourself an upgraded battery (60Ah). It should still start when jumped, though.

Sorry bud! but I can only add to your woes, I've got a 56 plate scoob WITH a cat 1 Alarm, I use mi Scoob ONCE every 3-4weeks, there is always enough charge in the battery to crank it over, try tightining the battery terminals. Any car should be able to jump start your car, you might have to give it a few minutes when you connect them though!

Get yourself a Ctek battery optimiser / charger and try recovering your battery, it might just do the trick...

or if you need a new battery get yourself an Optima red top battery - not cheap but your car will start even after 2 weeks of leaving it!

Brilliant batteries....

When a battery is completely exhausted, even if its not damaged/spoiled (sulficated etc), then you wont be able to jump start a car with it connected. Youll need to remove it and charge it slowly, expecting it to resist at first and maybe overheat your charger repeatedly to start with...

My STi does exactly the same thing. Just came back from Cornwall (was there only a week) and my battery was so dead the light wouldn't even light. Chraged it for 30 minutes and it turned over ok.
I belive it's something to do with the Tracker not going into "sleep mode" I've emailed RAC Trackstar and am waiting to hear back from them.

Exactly the same problem with my '54 blob. Back from Corfu after 2 weeks in the sun, thought I'd take the Scoob for a spin after driving Greek 'snail' buggies on the right for 10 days - nuthin!! not even enough to respond to the handset. Has anyone worked out why this happens and is it possible to resurrect the battery. Incidently, there is some sort of weird box type thing which is stuck to the side of my battery with wires disappearing underneath! Any ideas anyone. Also does the ecu need to be reset if a new battery is connected. Much appreciation in advance of any advice.

The lad down the road told me it is the alarm and the tracker that drains the battery. He said to me that if you are going away for more than a few days unplug it. I dont know if this is a good idea or not maybe somebody on hear knows whats best.
