No, it was always a dealer fitted option at around £2k There were occasional special offers or deals on it to push sales, but the car left the factory with the standard 265bhp

Lot depends which year. Aside from the newer ones fetching more, 05MY got a stack of changes; wider track, new centre console, DCCD on the Type UK.

Also - if you're new to this, do you already know the difference between the UK and Japanese market cars?

I paid £11500 for my 04MY with PPP, done 26,000 miles with full subaru dealer service history. Running on 18" WR1 rims as well. Bought it from Graham Walkers in chester, would recommend them to any one

MY05's were churned out during the Free PPP or Free Servicing promotion IIRC.

They don't tend to cost that much more tbh, £500 perhaps. For that you get a Sports cat which is worth selling (c.£200) if going decat, and you have the decat 2nd pipe and fuel pump worth about £160 to buy again. The back boxes go for about a £100 too in good condition so you wouldn't lose out buying a PPP overall.
