Default **** "SCOOBY SHOOT OUT" Elvington, September 20th****

Just to remind everyone that the "Scooby Shootout" is only a couple of weeks away, on Sunday 20th September.

Elvington Aerodrome,
Halifax Way, Elvington,
York,
YO41 4AU

There will be a drag racing, and a handling circuit, with cars grouped so everyone has a chance of winning a prize

To make life as easy as possible, payment is at the gate on the day.

The cost for taking part in the Scooby Shootout is £50.00, spectators £10.00, & no charge for children.

This is for the use of both the handling circuit, and the drag strip.

So come along, it's going to be a fantastic fun day.............

Its usually £10 per adult at the gate to spectate, which is the norm for most events of this kind.

It usually starts around 10:30

It isnt any more than the prices above. You never know September may bring sunshine.

Banny, usual ones apply iirc. Which is usually 103db from memory.

IMPORTANT : I strongly advise everyone to NOT book this event until some important matters have been resolved.

Whilst Mark seems to think he knows what's going on, I (as owner the scoobylive event) have spoken to Trevor, who has told me he didn't tell Mark these thing.

Either way, there will be an announcement shortly which will make it clear exactly what everyone's options are.

If you would like to still book the event now, please go ahead, but I do not want to be associated with an event where people end up getting ripped off, so once Trevor has finally told me what he's playing at, I will let everyone know their options, which will almost certainly be cheaper than anything offered for just Scooby Shootout (but will include Scooby Sprint as well - which is absolutely impossible if offered by this strange "cash" deal that trevor seems to be offering). I am sure this will turn out to be a misunderstanding on the part of Mark, but I suggest you wait a couple of days until this is resolved.. there's plenty of time.

Cheers

Simon

JB

I'm really sorry.

Don't worry, I'll do everything in my power to make sure that everyone from ScoobySprint is looked after and not affected by this ****-up.

Don't worry, I have a plan, and it will be open to anyone who wants to take advantage of it. I'll let you all know once its sorted.

Does my car have to road legal, eg taxed, mot, insurance?

I have taken my car off the road to mainly do track days.

This is ridiculous!

I know its not your fault Simon, and I think I speak for all the competitors when I say we'll support whatever you do 100%, so just let us know."

Shame to spoil a good thing

Hi,
can someone clarify the situation please as we have 7 scoobyclinic cars waiting to go to these events, if its going to cost us £50.00 per car extra, I assume thats what I am reading here, then we will pull out of the whole event, shame really as its been a good series and have fully enjoyed it.
cheers

it sureley has to be a case of people who havent paid pay 50 to enter for the last round and entrants who have already paid dont pay anything, you cant expect people who have paid to enter all the rounds to cough up another 50 per car. like kev said scoobyclinic were looking to run seven cars in the last round that will mean another £350 that cant be right

To be honest itaka, its even more complicated than THAT, in that the handling circuit it going to end up like a moving car park at this rate, just like last year and the year before.

Either way.. Regardless of what anyone else tries to do to you, there's no way I'm letting my competitors be ripped off. So however this turns out, I assure you, I'll make sure you're ok. Leave it with me, and just hold fire for a 24 hours.

Once again, I'm so sorry to everyone that these weird statements have sprung up from nowhere and against everything that has been in place all year (and for 4 years!).

Don't worry.. those of us IN the loop are as confused as you!! I've been trying to get to the bottom of it, but Trevor won't give me a straight answer, and Mark (who seems to be Trevor's spokesperson) hung up on me saying he'll only talk to me in writing!!

I'm sorry. For some reason these second hand statements from unrelated parties have popped up, and I'm afraid its just not true. Some people are speaking out of turn here, and I assure you, I won't let you get ripped off.

Right..

as it appears we're getting nowhere and I can't get a straight answer out of anyone.

As nobody has called me to explain how my competitors are not going to have their day ruined, and reverses these ridiculous decisions, despite repeated attempts it leaves me no choice.

Stay tuned to the following thread on the official site to ensure you have the latest official info :
http://www.scoobysprint.com/showthread.php?t=135

I need to get everything sorted out properly which will take me a couple of days, but it looking like we'll be able to do a much better job of things (the timing it likely to work), can run noisier cars, will be able to reduce the costs to everyone (I have to check this, but I'm expecting somewhere in the region of a fiver for speccies and abour £45 for competitors, but.. as I've spoken to so many of our regular competitors who have all said they would rather move to our new venue (get in touch with me if I haven't spoken to you yet), I'm going to reduce their entries even further as a way of showing a bit of support back to them and an apology for the awful debacle which could have spoilt the end of their championship.

Anyway.. onwards and upwards.

I'll post up more info on the official thread as soon as I have it, but please give me a couple of days to get everything sorted.

Cheers guys, and sorry again for all this!

Like I said, no matter what anyone else tries to do, I promise to ensure you're all ok.

Simon,

I only know what I have been told by Trevor Duckworth, the owner of the "Scooby Shootout" event.

Trevor has asked for the event to be posted up, with the pricing, and for people to pay at the gate on the day.

This thread is for the people who are not already involved in the Scooby Sprint, but just want to come along, and have a great day at the Shootout.

This thread is not for anyone wanting to enter the last round of Scooby Sprint, they should go to the Sprint web site, register, and pay you directly.

With regard to those people already taking part in the Scooby Sprint, and wanting to join in the drag racing fun, I'm sure Trevor will discuss that aspect with you as soon as he returns from being away, and you'll both come up with an acceptable solution !

Now, why would anyone take issue, or have a problem with that ?

Mark

Furtunately, that means you're paid me. Which means your money's safe.

Full details of the new venue will be released soon and we won't need to worry about other people causing complications like this. All will be back to how it was. It should also be a lot cheaper, so you'll get a refund

Sorry about this, it will just take me a couple of days to sort all this mess out.

Why dont you pull your head out of trev's **** and accept that this is a total cluster ****! Better still, stay out of it and let simon and trev sort it out.

this has pissed off a lot of scoobysprint competitors, based on what has been posted.... not that you seem to give a **** about that, so perhaps you should retreat back up trev's ring.
