Hello mate I've got a 95 WRX import and it has had a full stainless turbo back exhaust system for 3years now and it's never had any trouble on the MOT front. Older cars like ours arent obligated by law to be fitted with a catalyst, I believe it was down to manufacturers descretion in those days. But after 98 or somthing, maybe a bit earlier, it was deemed mandatory by law that all cars must be fitted with a cat to pass an emitions test. What makes me laugh though and is a little confusing, is that older cars can pass without a cat. But if they have one they can fail on emmisions if its faulty haha. But anyway to answer you original question you should be fine mate.

Ben.

i was under the impression 1992 was the last yr of no cats on a car for MOT, anything after 92 needs a cat, wether the mot guy is friendly in the above cases who knows why they passed
