Yeah of course, i had mine mapped by Bob and it was totally different. It pulled harder, from earlier, for longer. Its also so much smoother to drive. I think it was my favourite mod, certainly the most noticable.

As someone already said, its by far the most noticeble mod you can do to your car, had a number of cars mapped over the years and you can always feel the difference straight away.

Mark you need to ditch the downpipe CAT mate! Really restrictive.

Did you get my post about me doing the Fuel pump for you?? Also have you got JGM coming up here to do the MAP?? I'm gonna be ditching the TD04 also mate to get above 300 Then it WILL be quick.

Yea u want as a minimum a sports cat in the downpipe so it will pass MOT. No cat n it will probably fail. No cat in centre pipe is ok as well.

Yea well a dealer won't pass it if it's just a tiny bit over. You don't gain much from a straight through dpipe versus a sports cat dpipe anyway as power is limited by the turbo, so worth putting a sports cat in imo.

I ran a decat for a while, got fed up changing it for mot's, and also the drone it made(RA, poor sound proofing!)
I fitted a 100cel sports cat when i went fmic, it's quieter, will pass a road side check, and i get a nice 335bhp with it!

You could always do what I did and insure your car for more bhp to allow for any mods (if you intend any).

I am running over 500 but my policy allows up to 800 and it was hardly any more money

Just another thought, i remember someone saying that a decat is illegal, and technically could void your insurance? Not sure if this is true?

Very interesting point. Should be fine if all mods are declared to the insurer, but will/can they insure something that is illegal for road use?

270 is optimistic with TD04 and no other significant mods. The PPP MY00 is 240 with backbox, intercooler pipes and 16psi boost. The fuel pump upgrade (assuming the OE pump is fine) is of no benefit until you get around the 300bhp area so your list only has the panel filter and centre cat removal which both make very little difference.
You can get a really well-rounded road car on the TD04 but to make a remap worthwhile you have to ditch the original exhaust system. A downpipe with sports cat will solve the MOT hassles, then a straight through or resonated centre section and a backbox may get you near that 270.

Had a full 3" system put in mine and it made 269.7. The fuel pump wont give you anything extra but will be needed when you go for the next set of mods

Definitely worth doing though, car is much quicker and sounds like a proper scoob now

270 is easily achievable, my old one got 265bhp/272Lbft, others I know of regularly hit 270 or more just with 100cell decat/centre decat, panel filter and tek3 remap. Sometimes they require a 3port boost solenoid to control the boost.

When i asked on here i got offered loads of new or near new ones for £50/£60 and if you come to mine we'll fit it on our drive for nowt! There a peice of **** to fit and i have a very good guide. Will save you easily enough to buy a second hand downpipe with no cat
