i was just thinkin, if 600hp takes me into club pro, would i get a bit of a waver due to me only having brembos rather than 356mm k sport 8 pots and also i cant run tyres any wider than 235 so is that another handicap for me

Andy,

I think its more the power of yours.... 638bhp is a **** load, and paired with a relitivly light car (1208kg) that is going to shift.

If you have all that power but cant make it stop or turn I think its a bit of an over sight

Andy - Do you own Scooby Teknix? If so... I spoke to you on the phone a few years back when you were selling two GC8 trackcars. Our skyline had just been stolen and I was desperatly trying to find something

Yeah I am stuck with 235 tires. I overcome it with AP 6 Pots, and NOS!

I know it's not allowed in club, but I take a breath full before I leave the pits and then blow it down a pipe to the engine when I need a boost. Don't know why, but I always finish each run on a real high!

its 603 hp now mate running 1.6bar and its 1128kg, also the car isnt exactly a straight line car, its physically impossible for me to fit wider tyres on the car without taking the arches completely out.

no i dont own scoobyteknix mate, andy just sponsors me, the two track cars that you were interested in. the red one was my old one.

andy h 603 bhp 1128 kios...................534

Duncan 550 bhp 1450 kilos = 379bhp/ton
adam k 420 bhp 1150 kilos = 365bhp/ton (this is a target though It will be about 340bhp and 1250kg = 272bhp/ton for Snet)
Fee k 500bhp 1300kg = 384bhp/ton
andy h 638 bhp 1128 kios = 565bhp/ton
shawy 600 bhp 1150 kilos = 521bhp/ton
jb1 450bhp 1400 kilos - 321bhp/ton

Power divided by weight in Kgs gives bhp per KG. Multiply that by 1000 to give you the bhp per tonne.

Example. 200bhp 500kgs = 400bhp per tonne

Obviously bhp will come into it, but a very good friend of mine has a 279hp caterham which is 535bhp per ton, i have been in it and it doesnt feel anything like mine. why ?

It's actually about torque. Thats what wins races. Do the same with torque figures and see what you get per tonne.

Reason caterham doesn't feel the same.... no big turbo to deliver a massive kick. I drove my TA car and my Maclaren SLR round Oulton a few weeks ago and it didn't seem all that fast, just kept on pulling though like a train. Have to say L55BAT was considerably faster round a lap The power is just delivered in a different way. I guess its the same as that.

Well yes, of course your right there, but you have to take dyno figures with a pinch of salt really. Mines only been on one and it made 320bhp so can we stick with me having that, as it makes my look like a driving god lol.

Apart from engine power you have the way it's delivered, suspension, brakes, aero, etc. It's the whole package. Until you are on track with the same driver in each car you will never get a real idea of what each can do.

ha ha just re-read this I would like to point out that it should say "and a Maclaren" not "my Maclaren".
