Just had my exhaust replaced.
I had a PPP MY01 WRX UK300.
I've now got an Oval WRX Sport exhaust.
Is that better/the same/a rip off?
Had it replaced under insurance......Subaru dealer tells me its the new STI exhaust and it sounds/performs the same as my PPP kit previously?
Your advice is appreciated.

I take it you had a minor rear end collsion or it was stolen?
I would not be happy if my Subaru dealer changed my PPP back box for a WR Sport one.
If the car is a PPP'd one you are entitled to the genuine replacement article. It may sound the same but thats not the point. When you come to sell the car you want the genuine article.
What would you have said if your O.Z.Prodrive alloys were changed under insurance for standard WRX alloys. Same difference to me.

good point which is why im asking?
Subaru reckon ProDrive have replaced the scoobysport exhaust with new oval one?
It is the same exhaust that comes on the STI...so power...muffle..noise are similar?
Prodrive have recommended the new oval shape?
Insurance job from rear ender so I dont think the dealer is pulling a fast one?

I have a UK300 PPP and I would not be happy if they replaced it with the oval WR sport backbox.
As Nathan said it should be like for like, and how do you convince people you had a full PPP if you have this backbox?

Dealer is pulling a fast one... Probably had it hanging around, insist on the right one or call prodrive yourself and ask if they've changed the PPP. Exhaust is an integral part of the package... Don't stand for being p'ed around

getting worried now.
I've been told the backbox is Prodrive and on the same par as the PPP round version I had?
He said its labelled WRX Sport ie: WRX Sport Performance Pack which is what I ordered for the UK300.
So its not a WR Sport but a Prodrive WRX Sport.
Oh cripes.

I think you'll find the wrsport exhaust sold by dealers is not the same as the new STI one. The sti exhaust is @ 3-4" diameter round whereas the wrsport one is oval. However the wrsport one does sound a lot nicer than the standard STI one.

You've done the right thing Jason. If I was buying your car from you and I noticed the WR oval BB I would question whether the car was actually fitted with PPP. We anoraks notice these things 
Round BB looks much better.
