Correct oil and grade for 99 uk turbo?
Hi,
My uk 99 turbo is coming up for an oil service at 122,000 miles, now am i ok using shell helix 10 40 as it says in the book?, or should i go for fully synthetic oil?
Bottom end was replaced at 60,000 miles and power wise its about 260-70 bhp
Also what gearbox oil should i be using on my car with the higher mileage?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated,
Cheers matt

Shell Helix 10w40 semi synthetic is the standard oil for these cars unless you ask for something different, dont go 5w30 fully synth (it says why in your handbook) but you can go slightly thicker (15w50 for example) though you wont really gain anything with that mileage using a fully synthetic oil (cold start up etc where all the damage is done).
All the other lubricants in the handbook suffice for the age/mileage on the car
