3rd party fire and theft on classic?
Just been getting quotes for a classic STi worth about 4 grand and was amazed at the difference in cost. About £950 fully comp or £450 fro 3rd party fire and theft.
Now, part of me says get the fully comp one the other says go for the cheaper option. What do you reckon? Do many of you just go 3rdPF&T?

I insured my Classic UK Turbo TPFT when I was 20. It was probably worth about £4k, and I would never have involved the insurance company if I'd crashed it locally. At that age it would be better taking the £4k hit than adding the premium on to my insurance for the next however many years just because I'd claimed.
You're older though, so I'd say you might as well insure it fully comprehensive.

I wonder why I got quoted that, I paid £450 last year with Swinton which I thought was reasonable.
Where do you live then? mind you it shouldn't be over double the price, god knows how they work prices out........your not a stuntman by trade are you?

That's where you're going wrong, all the compare sites couldn't match A Plan. I'm 31 too, with full ncb(13 years!), with a lot of mods all declared(see my garage), protected ncb, with mods payed for in a claim, £570. And i live in Luton, not the best area! They also said it would be £100 cheaper if Sue wasn't a named driver on the policy.
