it is something that can be done at home, and is as easy as any other cambelt to do, the main things to watch out for are, use the correct marker on the toothed crank pulley, dont the let the n,s,f cam pulleys rotate once the belt is removed, the rest is easy

I used a gates cam belt as the timing marks are marked on the belt which made it really easy to line everything up

If your not sure on how to change the cambelt it can ruin your whole engine, but as long as you had fun

best bit about doing a DIY timing belt is spending hours on the job, getting it right, getting it all back together again and then the wife coming outside and asking what you have done, show her the old belt and for her to say "is that it"

your a bit touchy mate you are the one saying you are competent in one post then the other asking how to do it , i have changed my own cam belt and many others, and have never paid anyone to do anything on my own car, have fun f@cking up your cambelt change! ******.
