Default Massive thanks to EngineTuner!!

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to the guys at Engine Tuner in Plymouth!!

After my engine went on a trackday I did a search of reputable tuners and decided to send the old girl down to Alan and Martyn!! Very glad I did too.

Right from the moment the car arrived down there everything was spot on, communication by phone and email were pretty much constant, never too busy to send an email, even at 11 o'clock at night!!

I went for the 2.1 stroker conversion with S206 and Closed Deck Block in the end and what a difference, it pulls and pulls in every gear and sounds completely insane at 2bar of boost final results were 453bhp and 430 lbs of torque. He mapped it Friday and said then that he wasn't going anywhere til he was 100% happy with it, I left the garage at 6pm!!

The build took ten weeks in total due to staff holidays and a few other problems but knew where I stood every step of the way!! During the last fortnight I had an email off Alan after every working day with an update. I had a wee problem during the running in last Sunday where the car wouldn't start. An email to Alan in the afternoon soon sorted it, I had a call off Martyn that night about 9pm telling me that it was probably the fuse for the fuel pump due to the SimTek drawing more current, changed the fuse and job done

Cheers for all your help guys, much appreciated for everything see you soon for more mods

Isn't the S206 a 500bhp turbo? Mine should be getting mapped on Wednesday on my std 2.0 bottom end!

The turbo will flow enough for 500 bhp plus. We've seen over that figure on more than one engine now. Mervil's engine is very fresh, only a week old in fact! and we were perfectly happy to leave it there for a while, knowing there is more development available from the car.
On the road, this car is stunningly quick.

As Alan said, the engine has only been running for around 2 weeks now, I was more than happy taking the car and returning for a wee tweek at 5k miles

Duncan, you silly boy.
2 bar is a peak, we aren't looking for 2 bar at max revs right now. We have other work to do, and the motor's still squeaky new.
Is all that all right with you?

Still good figures

What is the boost profile Alan?

As for squeaky new engines running boost - best way to bed them in IMO

I agree! We go for the oil change at fifty miles after mixed load use. My natural reserve tends to favour the idea of getting some miles in before absolutely thrashing it however.

I don't know all the boost details, that isn't my job! I'm the one running around like a lunatic while the workshop, tuning and engineering staff have a leisurely day.
