Default 1st Post and maybe a slight problem

Hello All, my 1st post !!
Picked my 03 WRX up on sat and really pleased, apparantly running 300bhp, it does feel bloody quick but still feeling my feet with it.
Its got a nice exhaust, a boost controller and a rage condenser ? (whatever that is) all set up on a rolling road.My 2nd jap car, 1st was a R33 GTR but didnt get on with it, before that its been TVR's.
Anyway going to work this morning and the orange engine warning light come on and stayed on, book says its emissions ?? Should i stop using it till i get it to the garage ?
Glad to be here. John.

hello and welcome.. is it decatted? (exhaust) if it is that could be why the CEL on the dash as lit up...should really be remapped if the car has been decatted..this will sort out your cars performance and get rid of the dash light.

Welcome buddy I hope you enjoy Scoobynet

Ok, The book says admissions ? because the orange engine light came on ? I am confused because when the engine light comes on it could mean lots of things!

I would get the ECU read 1st to find the real fault!

Where are you based ?

Welcome to Scoobynet John.
Got to be honest Scooby ownership will test you at times but stick with it I've a classic Impreza so not too good on the new cars. Hope you enjoy it, Gareth

If it still has the standard TD04L Turbo, Regardless of any other Bits, Remap included, It wouldn't be much more than 280 Bhp if that. The TD04 just does not have the Puff towards the top end....

If you get the codes read off the Ecu, it will give you more of an idea as to what the Ecu thinks the problem is, You can do a good portion of the reading using the Cheapie Obd2 scanners.

Get a code reader! I got my '02 Wagon 2 weeks ago and the light came on after a blast. Hit the limiter in 2nd, oops, came back with a code from the cam sensor -short circuit. Did some reading and some of these sensor codes are easily triggered and some will even sort themselves out after a few engine cycles if fault doesn't re-occur. If you've done something daft like this then £40 or so on a reader will give instant peace of mind and save a fortune in visits to the scooby shop. If all is well delete the fault, if it keeps failing take it in. At least you know where to start looking.
