hi guys,as some of you know i had some grooved discs fitted yesterday along with mintex pads at graham goode racing. However rather than fitting mintex 1155's they fitted 1144's. Graham goode say they will change over free of charge as what i asked for but said 1155 pads are cold from start up and will wear the discs very hard? Whats the advice and truth?

From the camskill website :Mintex M1155 Brake pads are for primarily for light track use/Track days and DO require a couple of hard stops to get the pad to optimum braking efficiency.
To see if these are sold in M1155 material simply add M1155 to the end of the standard part number from Mintex. MINTEX M1144 is a fast road, light race/hill climb pad. Has a good coefficient of friction throughout a good temeparture range. Ideal hot hatch pad that doesn't cost the earth.

i know exactly what you mean i've been after getting rid of my performance friction pads as they keep eating my wheels.
i wanted to go for the m1155 pads but found they are nearly as aggresive as the pf ones, not good when cold and also on about a months lead time from the factory.
i ended up fitting the 1144 pads by reccomendation (they are cheaper as well), i'm glad i took the advice they work perfect from cold and give a very good pedal feel.
i would say in my opinion they are just as good if not better than the performance friction ones and best of all hardly any dust.

thanks for the responses, has anyone on here got the 1155 pads fitted to their car? Are they really bad from cold and do they destroy discs? Im booked in hopefully for friday to have the 1144s changed over but wondering whether i should stick with them?
