Shunted at a roundabout - likely damage?
#1
My pride and joy, Huggy Bear (the faithful Pimpmobile ) was shunted last night whilst I was pulling onto a roundabout. It could've been worse, there is some paintwork damage and scuffs on the bumper, but the side which took the impact appears to have been nudged forward by about 4mm. That doesn't sound like much obviously but it means the bumper no longer lines up with the bottom edge of the panel above it.
I've had a look underneath briefly with a torch, and in the centre there are two L-shaped brackets which seem to hold the bumper in place. I can't see any near the point of impact as there's some plastic in the way, but is the same type of bracket used there? They look like they're designed to withstand a minor bump such as this.
I'm just a bit concerned as it will be a day or two til I can get it checked out properly at a bodyshop.
Anyhow -
