Default Wheel re-ferb advice

my wheels are getting blasted tomorrow as 3 hours rubbing down and prepping by hand does half a wheel!!!! i however want my wheels on this side of christmas!!

I was rubbing them down to the orignal prima, was going to white prima over them and then spray white and laquer.

Question i have is, on bare ally im going to need some better prima surley? i have seen some 1 mention it on here but unsure what it is. how thick a coat is it going to need (or how ever many thin coats.)

any advice greatfully taken

How much is the blasting costing you? And what's the cost of all the primer and paint? You'd need etch primer by the way in answer to your question.

JP Polishing in Canvey will do an ok job for £175 for a set of 17" or Lepsons in Kent will do a proper job for about £200 for the set.

nice price!!

So if you sold the ps2 and bits, with the cost of the paint on top about £150 all in?

eta i think the price i posted above would be if the tyres were already off and then you'd have to pay extra to have them refitted. plus if you do it yourself you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself

JP's 17" £175 includes tyres on/off/on.

Getting mine done at Lepsons over the winter IIRC c.£50 a wheel with nominal charge for tyres.

i like those sort of prices. I've got a ps2, wheel and a load of games that i don't use if he wants to do another set.
