Nope, it will put the speedo out (ie your doing 30 its saying your doing 27 which is illegal) due to the wrong circumferance (sp)
You can run either of these 2 tyre sizes on 17 inch wheels, 215/40/17 or 205/45/17 (the latter being the correct size and the first being a very good alternative).
